FC Upgrade

Brocade

1. Login to the switch
2. Save switch config configupload
3. Verify health of switch mapsdb –show
4. Run firmwaredownload -c to FTP code to switch and perform the upgrade
5. Check status of upgrade with firmwaredownloadstatus and then firmwareshow
6. Post Upgrade Check run firmwareshow -v
7. Verify no connectivity issues with hosts

Cisco MDS

1. Switch Config has to be backed up prior upgrade
2. Login to the switch
3. Copy system imaged and kickstart files for 8.X code
   copy tftp://10.xx.xx.xx/m9100-s5ek9-kickstart-mz.8.X.bin bootflash:
   copy tftp://10.xx.xx.xx/m9100-s5ek9-mz.8.X.bin bootflash:
   show version image m9100-s5ek9-kickstart-mz.8.X.bin
   show version image m9100-s5ek9-mz.8.X.bin
   dir bootflash:
4. Upgrade to 8.X:
   install all system bootflash:m9100-s5ek9-mz.8X kickstart bootflash:m9100-s5ek9-kickstart-mz.8.X.bin
5. Verify the code upgrade to 8.X:
6. show install all status
7. show install all failure-reason
8. show system health statistics
